Announcement by Germany: 10 Killed in Attack are Citizens of Germany

German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, Sawsan Chebli said in her statement to reporters in Berlin that 10 citizens of Germany have lost their lives in the bomb attack in Sultanahmet.
Names of those killed are as follows: Marianne Faber, Adolf Jurgen Glorius, Rüdiger Karl Faber, Steffen Höppner, Rudolf Krollman, Karin Erika Franke-Dütz, Gernot Eike Mildner, Gerhard Günther Höppner, Hiltrud Krollman and Rudiger Becker.
Reuters reports that Chebli added that five of seven citizens of Germany in hospital are in intensive care.

Interior Ministry of Germany, Thomas de Maiziere and Interior Minister, Efkan Ala held a press statement this morning (January 13) following citizens of Germany losing their lives in the bomb attack.
Ala stated as to attack in Sultanahmet yesterday that one person has been taken into custody.
Ala noted that 10 people in addition to the suicide bomber killed, 11 people are in hospital and six wounded were discharged.
“Nine of the 11 people are citizens of Germany, one is a citizen of Norway, one is from Peru, and condition of two of the nine citizens of Germany is serious”.
Citizen of Syria born in Saudi Arabia
It has been announced that the attacker was an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militant born in Saudi Arabia and citizen of Syria, Nabil Fadil.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and government spokesperson Numan Kurtulmuş had told that the attacker was Syrian but hadn’t mentioned that he was born in Saudi Arabia.
Were the target citizens of Germany?
Deutsche Welle citing German News Agency, DPA government of Germany has no evidence on whether the target was the citizens of Germany.
German Minister of Justice, Heiko Maas declared that it is not yet clear if the target was citizens of Germany, and they don’t have any conclusive information.
Confidentiality order has been imposed on the investigation launched by İstanbul Chief Public Prosecution Office. (AS/TK)
