Trial of Ethem Sarısülük murdered in Ankara during Gezi protests was heard in Aksaray Heavy Penal Court after reversal of Court of Appeals.
Sarısülük’s family attorney, Kazım Bayraktar speaking to bianet expressed that their demand for arrest of defendant police officer Ahmet Şahbaz has been rejected.
“Ahmet Şahbaz has been released in three days without informing the parties in a hearing which we might call ‘pirate’ following the Court of Appeals referred the case to Aksaray Heavy Penal Court.
“We asked the court regarding this issue to denunciate Ankara 6th Heavy Penal Court committee and its president by stating that Ankara 6th Heavy Penal Court malpracticed and it should be interpreted as ‘absconder act’. We also demanded arrest of Şahbaz.
