Police have intervened in protests against curfews in Turkey’s southeastern Sur district of Diyarbakır province, three people have been shot to death.
Names of the murdered are Şoreş Mutlu, Sezgin Demirok and Cüneyt Yeni, as Fırat News Agency Reported (ANF).
The incident happened near historical Diyarbakır Fortress towards evening. Eyewitnesses told all three of them were shot at a point called “Simar Hole”, which is a breach in the fortress.
ANF reported that women willing to go near those who were shot were prevented by special operations police officers by being threatened.
Mesut Seviktek and İsa Oral had been shot in Sur district the other day.
The curfew in Sur’s six neighborhoods and one street in effect as of December 2 was lifted for 17 hours on December 11.
The curfew is ongoing. (AS/TK)
