Today is the fourteenth anniversary of the first protest against unsolved disappearances in Turkey.
On 27 May 1995, fourteen years ago, the “Saturday Mothers” gathered for the first time.
They came together in front of the Galatasaray Highschool in central Istanbul to protest against the disappearances of their sons and relatives.
All these years later, many of the disappearances have still not been solved, and perpetrators have not been brought to justice. This year, the Saturday Mothers took up their weekly protests again.
