İstanbul University Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Tufan Tükek has announced that 15 percent of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) tests done in the Çapa Faculty of Medicine have turned out to be positive.
On his social media account, Tükek has said:
"In Çapa, 81 of 531 tests are positive. The rate of positive tests has topped 15 percent. We can now say that the outbreak has started again for İstanbul.
"The majority are young people and the rate of patients with pneumonia is unfortunately high. I am writing all these not to demoralize you, but to urge you to take measures. Otherwise, everyone will be sorry.
"The UK, France and Spain are the countries where the people abide by the rules the least. The result is over 10 thousand daily cases. Our health system is good, but there are some things that we need to do as people. Let's take the recommendations of our Health Ministry and scientists into account."
