The Ministry of Health announced the latest figures on novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Turkey today (May 25).
While 987 people have tested positive, 29 people have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. 1,321 people have recovered. The number of tests conducted in the last 24 hours has been announced as 21,492.
According to the figures announced till today, 1,853,754 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Turkey so far. While the total number of cases is 157,814, the death toll has reached 4,369.
While 756 people are in treatment in intensive care units, the number of intubated patients is 371 and the total number of recovered is 120,015.

'Need for intensive care keeps decreasing'
In announcing today's figures on Twitter, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has said, "The number of total recoveries has exceeded 120 thousand. The need for intensive care support keeps on decreasing."
The Minister has underlined that "the success achieved" in the struggle against the virus is "a result of the compliance of 83 million."
"The new and strong measure to take in the new period is the measure to be taken in social life together," Minister Koca has indicated further.
Over 5 million confirmed cases worldwide
Since first appearing in China last December, the novel coronavirus has spread to at least 188 countries and regions. The US, Russia, Brazil, and several European countries are currently the hardest hit in the world.
The pandemic has killed over 345,000 people worldwide, with more than 5.45 million confirmed cases, while recoveries exceeding 2.19 million, according to the figures compiled by the US' Johns Hopkins University.
