Turkish Airlines (THY) released a statement yesterday (May 20) and has announced that it has extended the suspension of domestic and international flights due to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
While the suspension of domestic flights has been extended till June 4, 2020, that of international flights has been extended until June 10.
In late April, the company announced that it extended the suspension of domestic and international flights until May 28.
Carry-on bags not allowed in the cabin area
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), as part of the measures taken against coronavirus, carry-on bags will not be allowed in the cabin area, but will now be checked with other baggage.
The 8-kilo carry-on bags for international and domestic flights will be added to passengers' luggage allowance. Handbags will be allowed on flights.
Pegasus has also cancelled domestic flights
Pegasus Airlines has also released a statement and announced that "in line with the additional precautions to combat the coronavirus, all domestic flights have been cancelled between May 28 and June 3, 2020."
It has also informed that in line with the SHY-Passenger Regulations due to the COVID-19 published as of March 25, 2020, all cancelled flights ticket operations will be done according to the following process:
Open Ticket
You can convert your ticket to open ticket via flypgs.com and Pegasus mobile app.
* No penalty will be applied when you convert to open ticket.
* You can use your open ticket within a year on any route.
* If you don't use you're open ticket, you can get a full refund two months after the reciprocal flight restrictions have been lifted.
Reissue/Change
All cancelled flights can be changed without paying any penalty or difference via flypgs.com and Pegasus mobile app.
* Tickets that are booked on March 26, 2020 and before can re-book their tickets for flights until March 27, 2021 without paying any penalty or difference.
* If you book after March 26 and your flights is cancelled, you still change your ticket without penalty and just pay the difference between the new flight.
* No difference fee will be applied if your existing ticket and new ticket are in the same price range.
Refund
All cancelled flights can only be refunded via free call centre number 0 (850) 250 67 02
* As per the SHY-Passenger Regulations of published on March 25, 2020 due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), if you're not able to use a ticket that you have converted to an open ticket, you can obtain your refund two months after reciprocal flight restrictions have been lifted. (TP/EKN/SD)
