Gathering TV channels’ executives in a meeting, Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) Vice Chair İlker Ilgın, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee Chair Mehmet Çakıltaş talked about the broadcasting bans imposed with the Statutory Decrees.
Ankara Representatives and Ankara New Directors of Kanal A, NTV, Akit TV, Ulusal Kanal, TV NET, TRT, 24 TV, Kanal 7 ve Ülke TV, Halk TV; CNN Türk, Kanal D, atv and aHaber joined the meeting organized at the RTÜK, according to Cumhuriyet newspaper.
The ban includes releasing images and information other than official ones, using the expression “Breaking news”, names of perpetrators and suspects and information that might violate confidentiality of the investigation.
The broadcastings that might serve the purpose of terror organizations as to attacks launched on critical facilities like airports and brand cities like İstanbul, İzmir and Antalya will be considered within the scope of the ban.
