Nazlı Ilıcak who is one of the 42 journalists taken into custody order, within scope of the investigation launched into Gülen Community in wake of July 15 coup attempt, has been taken into custody in Bodrum.
Ilıcak has been taken into custody in Muğla’s district Bodrum.
What has happened?
Detention warrant has been issued for following journalists:
Abdullah Abdulkadiroğlu, Abdullah Kılıç, Ahmet Dönmez, Ali Akkuş, Arda Akın, Ayşe Nazlı Ilıcak, Bayram Kaya, Bilal Şahin, Bülent Ceyhan, Bülent Mumay, Bünyamin Köseli, Azmi Cemal Kalyoncu, Cevheri Güven, Cihan Acar, Cuma Ulus, Emre Soncan, Ercan Gün, Erkan Akkuş, Ertuğrul Erbaş,Fatih Akalan, Fatih Yağmur, Habip Güler, Hanım Büşra Erdal, Haşim Söylemez, Hüseyin Aydın, İbrahim Balta, Kamil Maman, Kerim Gün,Levent Kenez, Mahmut Hazar, Mehmet Gündem, Metin Yıkar, Muhammed Fatih Uğur, Mustafa Erkan Acar, Mürsel Genç, Selahattin Sevi, Seyid Kılıç,Turan Görüryılmaz, Ufuk Şanlı, Ufuk Emin Köroğlu, Yakup Sağlam and Yakup Çetin.
According to Doğan News Agency, the journalists Yakup Sağlam, İbrahim Balta, Seyit Kılıç, Bayram Kaya and Cihan Acar have been taken into custody.
Statement from Yağmur, Mumay and Sevi
One of the 42 journalists, Fatih Yağmur has stated on Twitter that he has seen the cruel treatment to the ones who have been taken into custody and said that he won’t surrender until the State of Emergency ends.
Bülent Mumay has stated on Twitter that the only organisation of which he has been a member is Journalists Association of Turkey and shared his membership card.
Selahattin Sevi has said in his social media accounts that he has been doing journalism in the street during the coup attempt and protests against coup attempt and that he is abroad for his works about refugees which has been awarded for it by Journalists Association of Turkey last year. (EA/UA)
