President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has applied to court for interlocutory injunction to be issued on Mathias Döpfner, the manager of Axel Springer which is one of the biggest media groups in Europe.
According to Reuters, Erdoğan’s attorney in Gemany Ralf Höcker said the complaint has been filed because of Döpfner’s support to Jan Böhmermann’s “Erdoğan poem”.
Döpfner in his open letter published in Welt am Sonntag in March had said he stands in solidarity with Böhmermann and “burst into laughing at the poem and dearly supports the comedian”.
