‘Google’ Blocking at Schools

Teachers faced with ‘ Access to this site has been blocked by Turkish Telecom with the request of Ministery of Education because of its objectionable content’ message when tried to open Google.

Primary and high school teachers couldn't access to google since it was blocked.

'We couldn't access to Google with our passwords on May 29th in between 10.30am-01:00 pm and we were faced with ' Access to this site has been blocked by Turkish Telecom with the request of Ministery of Education because of its objectionable content' message. We couldn't have access to news sites during these hours. We cannot access to any kind of social networking sites, blog sites, youtube and such sites due to filters applied' told an elementary school teacher to bianet.

Ministry of Education officials made a statement on the issue and told that they didn't give any instructions to block Google. (EKN)
