Annual inflation has become 15.39 percent in consumer prices and 23.71 percent in domestic producer prices.
This hike is highly above the expectations for June.
Consumer Price Index (TÜFE) was expected to increase by 14 percent.
15.39 percent is the highest rate of 2003 based index history. The previous peak was 12.98 percent in November 2017.
Price of onion increased by 82.53 percent
The highest hike in terms of consumer prices was seen in onion with 82.53 percent compared to last month. The onion was followed by potato with 63.34 percent and carrot with 57.72 percent in price hike.
Other products showing drastic increase in June are long green paper with 57.28 percent; domestic tours with 50.23 percent; lemon with 35.32 percent; Internet with 32.27 percent; tomato with 23.59 percent and green onion with 14.84 percent.
Highest drop is in skirt
The highest price drop was seen in skirt with 6.66 percent, which was followed by women’s jacket with 4.87 percent; cologne with 4.15 percent; women’s t-shirt with 3.41 percent; game console with 3.39 percent and string beans with 3.17 percent. (HK/TK)
