Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the unemployment rate of January 2018 as 10.8 percent.
According to this stats, the unemployment rate has become 3 million 409 thousand people with a decrease of 576 thousand people compared to January 2017, seeing a decrease of 2.2 points.
While the unemployment rate has become 19.9 percent in young population (aged between 15-24) with a 4.6 percent-decrease, this figure has marked 11.1 percent in 15-64 age group with a decrease of 2.2 points.
Women employment has increased
Climbing to 31 million 438 thousand people with an increase of 780 thousand people compared to the same period of last year, the employment rate has become 52.1 percent with an increase of 0.6 points in January 2018.
According to the comparisons made for the same periods; men employment has become 71.3 percent decreasing by 0.2 points and women employment has become 33.2 percent seeing an increase of 1.2 points.
Unemployment rate has increased compared to previous month
According to data announced by the TÜİK on March 15 for the months of November and December, the unemployment rate of those above 15 marked 10.4 percent.
According to this data, the unemployment rate has seen an increase of 0.4 points compared to the previous month.
