Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Adana MP Meral Danış Beştaş has brought the fire, which broke out in Adana juvenile detention center and killed two children, to parliamentary agenda.
Submitting the parliamentary inquiry demanding a response from Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ, Danış Beştaş stressed that six children including the ones killed in fire were taken into a hospital.
“Six children in severe condition were taken into a hospital resulting from a fire that broke out in child cell of Adana Type E Closed juvenile detention center on January 18, 2017. Muhammet Erdoğan and Ferhat Kaya, both aged 17, lost their lives. It is known that medical treatments for another poisoned child is ongoing”.
The inquiry sought answers to questions including whether an investigation has been launched to find those who were responsible for the fire, were the precautions taken, and any finding has been reached. (YY/TK)
