Gizem Akdeniz’s (6) body is found near Seyhan Dam Reservoir which was 20 kilometers away from her apartment, as she went missing on Sunday in the southern province of Adana.
Reports say that S.A., who is taken under custody, wanted to get revenge for his proposal being turned down by Gizem Akdeniz’s sister. S.A. is also the son of uncle of Gizem’s father.
It turned out that Gizem Akdeniz was tortured according to the first analysis before the autopsy according by the Forensics Institute.
A similar incident occurred in the western province of Kars. Mert Aydın’s (9) body is found in dumpster 5 kilometers away from the city center after he went out of the house on the 7th of April. While the suspect A.B. pleaded guilty, he was later on arrested.
Umut died in the well
Another child killing happened in Manisa province. Umut Zambak’s (9) body is found in a defunct water well in Akhisar Station as he was missing for four days. Searching began after Akhisar Atatürk Elementary School Student Umut Zambak didn’t come home on the 25th of April.
Pamir Didik’s (3.5) body is found in the neighbor’s pool, as he left home in Zekeriyaköy on the 5th of April and was never heard of again.
633 children died in 2013
According to the report of the Gündem Çocuk Foundation, 633 children died of preventable causes in Turkey in 2013.
According to bianet’s tally, at least three women were murdered for rejecting proposals from men, three were also wounded. (NV/BAR/BM)
