4th International İzmir Photography Days will be held with the motto “Travel, Discovery, Aesthetics and Photography” at İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Ahmed Adnan Saygın Art Center from May 3 to May 20, 2018.
Photographers from Turkey and abroad will address “Photography” as well as seeking aesthetic, their passions to explore and travel’s journey to photography in theoretical and visual context with their own tones.
As part of the events, 23 photography presentations, 14 photography exhibitions, one portfolio reading, two panels will be held with the participation of 54 photographers. Three panels with theme “Cultural Geographies and Photography”, “Exploration of the World and Photography” and “Exploration of Surface and Photography” will be held.
About İzmir Photography Days
INTERNATIONAL İZMİR PHOTO DAYS is organized through the collaboration between İzmir Photographic Art Association (İFOD) and Dokuz Eylül University (DEÜ) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Department of Photography.
The event was formerly achieved with the motto “İzmir Meets Photography” in 2011, 2013 and 2015. Since 2011 we have brought together 140 photography artists and scholars from Turkey and 60 from 25 countries around the world with photo enthusiasts.
INTERNATIONAL İZMİR PHOTO DAYS is an event held, traditionally, every two years, which, until now, has accommodated about 150 activities including photography exhibitions, conferences, panel discussions and workshops. (HY/BK/TK)
