Wheat Ecological Life Association has shared an information note as to how we can move the ants away without hurting them.
The summer has arrived and the ants have come out of their nests. Even though we have an expression like “He or she wouldn’t hurt even an ant”, the number of those who pick a slipper when seeing an ant in the house.
If ants visit our home and we are disturbed by them, it is possible to move them away through natural ways rather than using poisonous methods and powders that kill them.
Put up a barricade
But how?
Here are suggestions of the Wheat Ecological Life Association:
* First of all, monitor the ants and determine their entrance and exit points. One of the methods to keep them away is to put up a barrier. The ants change their direction and return as they perceive an object on their way.
* For instance, an ant won’t cross a line which we will draw with a chalk. Instead of a chalk, we can also use curcuma, cinnamon, cucumber crust, carbonado, salt, red or black pepper.
* These barricades can be placed on the points where ants enter your home, or, we can occlude the holes where they enter with sawdust mixed with gum, putty and formica glue.
Baby powder and corn flour kill them
* What draws the ants to our houses are the smells that they find attractive. Fruit juice stains, bread crumbs, etc. We should clean our house more frequently at least for a while after practicing the aforementioned methods.
* Please keep in mind that baby powder and corn flour, which are recommended in some sources, kill the ants. We mustn’t use baby powder and corn flour to not hurt them. (NV/TK)
