Directorate General of Press and Information Vice President, Ekrem Okutan has told 330 press cards have been revoked in the wake of July 15 coup attempt.
Okutan stating 34 press cards were revoked last week, added that further work is being carried out for those bearing permanent press card.
“Press cards of 296 people of whom 74 are free press card owners have been revoked, making in total 330”.
“Supporting terror organization via publishing cannot be considered within press activity. This action we took can in no way be understood as limiting press freedom”, Okutan had said following the revoke of 34 cards last week. (ÇT/TK)
